When a woman gains the means to earn a living, she not only uplifts herself but her entire family. Loving Gaze believes that empowering women is one of the most effective ways to break cycles of poverty and dependency.

Our women’s empowerment initiatives support women through microcredit programs, skills training, and mentorship, giving them the tools to build a stable and independent future.

Our Program

Loving Gaze began its first women’s empowerment project with just 30 participants. Today, that network has grown to a vibrant community of over 60 women in Lagos.

Through our group savings and microcredit scheme, women pool their savings to fund one another’s small businesses, promoting accountability and collective growth. The program offers:

Skills training in tailoring, soap making, catering, and small-scale trading.
Microloans to start or expand local businesses.
Mentorship and peer support for continued development and resilience.
Financial literacy sessions to help women manage income and savings effectively.

The Impact

Over 80% of participants have successfully repaid their loans and now run thriving small businesses that sustain their families. Many have become mentors to other women — proof that empowerment grows when shared.

A Story of Change

When Nneka Oduwa, a mother of five, joined the program, she had no steady income, and her children were struggling with malnutrition. With a small loan and business training, she started a hairstyling business. Today, Nneka provides for her family, supports other women in her group, and continues to save for the future.
